So, it’s that time of year again. AGAIN? Wait, what? Seriously, I can’t believe it’s almost Christmas. AHHHHHHHHH!
Now, I have always been a fan of Christmas movies and decided earlier tonight to try and pick my all time favorite by making a list.
When I was younger, we traditionally watched Silent Night, Deadly Night (thank you Aunt Sherri) with my mom’s side of the family while making tamales on Christmas Eve. Nothing like a Santa slasher flick to get you into the Christmas spirit. Then a few years went by and Chris & Kyle were obsessed with Home Alone. Or, Hella Home and Floydy would say. That was my favorite for awhile. Part 2 is even better. A few more years down the road and it was all about National Lampoons Christmas Vacation. Then out came Jack Frost (the horror movie with Shannon Elizabeth) and THAT was my favorite for awhile. All of these movies hold a special place in my heart.
However, my all-time favorite Christmas movie, hands-down…..is Gremlins. It’s one of those movies that has the ability to bring Christmas charm into your life anytime of the year.
I looked at a gazillion Christmas movie lists and they were all the same. “A Christmas Story”, “It’s a Wonderful Life”, blah-blah-blah. I want to make my own but I know I’m forgetting some really good ones.
So, please post a comment with your favorite Christmas movie and maybe, if it’s good….I’ll add it to my list.
PS…The Santa Claus with Tim Allen, does not count.

I’m going to include Bad Santa and The Ref in my list. Any terrible cthulhumas flick is good in my eyes
Let’s not forget Die Hard.

ok - my favourite X-mas movie is ‘Smokey Mountain Christmas’. Its the one where Dolly Parton hides out in a mountain shack with a bunch of orphans and gets into a fight with the local witch. yes, really.

Mine is The Grinch with Jim Carrieeee. I like the way its filmed, plus its Dr. Suess, and I think he did a good job of being really animated. I can list a bunch of shitty christmas movies. I like the Christmas Story though and the sexayyy leg lamp.

The Grinch Stole Christmas (animated version/original) was my favorite movie at xmas time. I always liked the little dog that tried to pull the sled up the hill while the grinch was slashing him with a whip. At one point the dog slides under the sled and ends up on top of all the presents riding in the back seat wagging his tail… that is so cute! The grinch song will stay in your mind long after you see the movie….”your a mean one, mr grinch…you really are a heel, you’re as cuddly as a cactus , your’re as charming as an eel, Mr. Grinch…” lot’s more nasty stuff in that song, look up the lyrics and get a good laugh.

I have to pick Jack Frost (not the one with Michael Keaton) with the carrot rape scene I can still remember all of us sitting around watching it and of course it is one Aunt Sherri brought with her for us to watch. The other one is Charlie Brown’s Christmas as a child that signaled the start of the Holiday’s for me

Santa Bloody Santa is the ultimate. It’s a Wonderful Life offers the other side of the spectrum. I do love IAWL the most. Just the fact that he realizes how important his little life is packs quite a punch.
Example-Where would we all be without our Janelly Belly???
