This is kind of a crappy picture because of the lighting, but here it is. It hurts like a son of a bitch. The first time out of all of my tattoos that I’m actually in alot of pain. I’m going to be popping advils all day. In case you can’t tell, the entire tree was colored brown some some green mossy spots toward the bottom. The wings are most definately my favorite part. It is taking me a minute to get used to it because I was so in love with the black outline. It’s bright and bold and very beautiful. Thanks to Maz’s (and now my) amazing tattoo artist, Suzanne. I met with her a week before my first appointment to give her an idea of what I wanted. I brought in a picture of a fairy and a dead oak tree. When I came back only one week later, she had the sketch and it fit perfectly on my arm. You can check out Suzanne at Soul Patch’s website…..www.soulpatchtattoo.com I’ll post some better pictures as it heals.

Holy HOTTNESS is right! Last night when I got home from work, Nate asked me shave a mohawk into his head. This apparently is not a first for him but I had yet to see him this way and was utterly curious. I have shaved a few mohawks in my time so I new exactly what to do. Not too many interruptions except Bandit running off with a massive pile of hair in his mouth strewing it all over the living room. I’ve always been attracted to mohawked, tattooed badboys. Guess I finally got what I wanted. WOOT! All skanks keep away! I will slap a hoe! ![]()
Here’s a photo of Lollipop on the left (she’s a girl) and Beachball on the right (he’s a boy). I haven’t had birds since I was in the 6th grade and don’t really remember much about caring for them. My mom may have done all that. Remember Perky and Pesky, Weezer? I do remember Pesky would get loose and fly to the top of the curtain rod and do little “you can’t catch me” dances. My new budgies are still a little timid. Beachball moreso than Lollie. I can tell he likes it when we give him attention though because he puffs up and chirps and grooms himself. Which means he is comfortable and content. However, if you put your hand in the cage (without millet) he runs like a little bitch. He’s a millet whore though and you can get him to perch on your hand if you have some. It’s not such a good idea because millet is high in fat and not very healthy for the birds but they fucking love it. (See steak/butter/cheese story below.) Lollipop may have been hand raised because she’s very brave and has made the most progress so far. Bless their little hearts. They’re a cute pair.

I’m beginning to like this cooking thing. So here’s another one for you, Mom. But…you have to promise to come visit me sometime within the next year. Or else, I won’t be your daughter anymore. Anyway, I bought a couple of really small sirloins at Trader Joe’s the other day. I usually fret about how to season, how long to cook, how much, blah-blah-blah! Suddenly I’m feeling so collected and I can actually focus on things. I’m crediting my new computer. I love it, and I feel so organized! Anyway, I turned on the broiler, added salt, fresh ground pepper, Tony Chachere’s Cajun Seasoning and a slab of butter each to the steaks. While the penne pasta was boiling and the steaks broiling, I sauted green onions and garlic with some butter, added some milk and a 1/4 block of fresh blue cheese and melted it down into a TASTY pasta sauce. I served the steaks on top of the pasta.

A cook is definately something I am not, so when I actually make something that tastes good, it’s kind of a big deal. Like me. So friends and family, this is for YA’LLS oral pleasure!
There were a few contributing factors to this yummy concoction. First off, we bought a huge jar of pesto from Costco and have barely even looked at it. Secondly, I tend to collect olives. I’m not even exaggerating. I have about 8 different types of olives in the fridge right now. Two of them being anchovey-stuffed green and kalamata. SOOOOO, I sauted onions and garlic first and then tossed in the chicken. (added salt, pepper and parsley) Then I cut up the olives and sun-dried tomatoes and dumped them right in. I even added some capers. When the fetuccini noodles were done, I added a tinge of olive oil and tossed with the pesto. Put in in bowl, shaved some fresh parmesean on top and VOILA! folks. You got yourself some pasta. HA!

I just got my own personal laptop today. I’ve never owned a computer before and this is very exciting for me. I can also see this becoming a bit of a problem….I haven’t been off it since I got home from work. The battery has already drained out twice. Good Christ! What am I getting into here? Anyway, haven’t written in awhile because there hasn’t really been much to say. So, to catch up….Nate and I have added to our zoo. We have two parakeets now. I named mine Lollipop and Nate went with Beachball. They’re a cute pair and Beachball likes to play in the water bottle at night leaving me to refill the entire thing most mornings. I also went to "puppy school" with Bandit last Saturday and tomorrow we’re going to take him together. It is so adorable. All the puppies running around everywhere! I almost don’t know what to do with myself. Bandit is considered a "Big Gun". HA! For tonight, I’m meeting some friends in North Beach to celebrate a birthday. Happy Birthday, Allyson! Should be fun
Until next time….

Last night I watched Poltergeist for the first time in many years. Being the horror movie fanatic that I am, it takes quite a bit to scare me. However, this particular one (as well as part II and III) has always scared the hell out of me. My aunts even tortured me as child at our midnight swims by going to the lighted side of the pool and leaving me at the dark end by myself and go “Come to the light, Carol Anne” in this really creepy voice. Scarred for life I tell you. Nate had never seen it so I convinced him to watch it with me last night. Well, of course he falls asleep before the scary shit starts happening so I was left up by myself. Eventually I zonked out and woke up around 4am-ish to the menu and creepy music. I was almost too scared to even get up and turn it off but I did it anyway. I bet Nate doesn’t remember me running from the lightswitch and jumping under the covers so that the “poltergeist” didn’t get me. It’s still creeping me out thinking about it yet I’m excited to watch part II and III. I’m a sick individual in case you haven’t noticed. Here’s a bit of useless yet interesting knowledge regarding the Poltergiest movies. CREEPY!

Here it is. I have an appointment on February 28 to add color and finish it up. I’m really impressed with the way it turned out.

Absolutely un-fucking believable….

Well, with the way they (I refuse to say we) run everything else, it’s no fucking wonder. There truly are no words.

Well, Saturday is the day
I get to go to Soul Patch on Haight Street to begin my tattoo. Compliments of Nate for Christmas. We met with Suzanne (who did his tattoo) last week and gave her an idea of what I was looking for. I haven’t seen the sketch yet but I’m sure it will be amazing and she is one of the more incredible artists I have come across. I’m going with a dead oak tree enveloping my shoulder with a fairy sitting under it contemplating change. Ideally, she is going to have beautiful, extravagant wings. I will post a picture soon to share with you all. This will be my 5th tattoo and it will most certainly be added to as it’s the beginning of a partial sleeve. Who knows, maybe it will turn into a full sleeve.
